Information circulation in times of Ebola - Peak 1

From a sample of 50,000 tweets containing the words “Ebola” in French and English, posted between March 15 and November 8, 2014, two peaks were identified. This is the first one, starting on July 27 and ending on August 16, 2014. It contains 633 tweets. It is due to the fast spread of the virus, affecting countries like Nigeria, and to its consequences such as ban entries by countries like Liberia, South Africa and Kenya to travelers from West Africa, or the readying of the United States and Europe for a potential outbreak.本数据集取自2014年3月15日至11月8日期间发布的50000条包含"埃博拉（Ebola）"关键词的英法双语推文。研究从中识别出两条推文传播峰值，本数据集对应首个峰值时段的内容，该时段为2014年7月27日至8月16日，共包含633条推文。该峰值的出现源于病毒的快速扩散：不仅波及尼日利亚等国，还引发一系列连锁反应，包括利比里亚、南非、肯尼亚等国禁止西非地区旅客入境，以及美国与欧洲针对潜在疫情开展应对筹备工作。
