This study explores the transformative potential of smart technologies, focusing on electrochromic mechanisms in smart windows. We investigate poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) enhanced with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) to improve electrochromic performance. By integrating AuNPs into PEDOT:PSS films and treating them with lithium perchlorate (LiClO₄), we achieve significant optical transmission changes upon voltage application. Our method involves mixing and spin coating on ITO substrates, enabling real-time measurement of electrochromic properties. This research underscores the promise of advanced electrochromic materials for next-generation optoelectronic devices.
