16th century Calvary (Cathedral of Evora)

Sculpture of a Calvary carved in marble in the 16th century from the cathedral of Evora. It is a polychrome bas-relief (still retains traces of paint) that represents the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. On both sides of Christ appear the figures of the Virgin Mary and Saint Mary Magdalene. At the top two angels appear while under the cross there is a skull. The cross of Calvary is crowned by the inscription IHS:NS:REX:IVDEORVM: (Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jewish) in Gothic characters.
