资源简介:
Real-time transmitted data from Liquid Robotics Ltd Wavegliders "Waimea" (owned by MARS) and "Lyra" (owned by Cefas) and MOST AV Ltd Autonaut "Gordon" (owned by MARS). A subset of key variables are also included from MARS Teledyne Webb Slocum glider serial numbers 398 ("Churchill") and 400 ("Drake"), downloaded upon platform recovery. Data have been converted into the Everyone's Gliding Observatories (EGO) NetCDF format. The dataset is supported by barotrophic tidal current imagery from Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory Coastal Ocean Modelling System (POLCOMS) simulation runs. Data were collected in the Celtic Sea/English Channel during October and November 2014 as part of Marine Autonomous Systems in Support of Marine Observations (MASSMO). The MASSMO initiative was also publicised as the 'Exploring Ocean Fronts', with the overall objective being to assess capability of autonomous technologies for multi-disciplinary marine research. MASSMO was coordinated by the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) in partnership with 20 other organisations representing the marine robotics industry, research organisations and marine data users such as the UK Met Office and the Royal Navy.
