Kurthia gibsonii B83 is a Gram-positive bacterium that can tolerate stress. It is capable to growth at a wide range of temperature(10-45C). The genome of B83 may provide insight into its genetic programming for adaptations in stress environment. Genome sequence of this organism will help understand the molecular basis of stress tolerance in the bacterium, which may demonstrate the feasibility for engineering novel stress resistant organisms.
