资源简介:
This dataset presents the results of a quasi-experimental study conducted to evaluate the effect of ocular muscle training (OMT) on foot pressure distribution and balance in college-going students diagnosed with myopia. Myopia, a common refractive error, has been hypothesized to influence postural control due to the integral role of vision in maintaining balance. This study investigates whether targeted eye muscle exercises can positively impact physical balance and postural stability. Participants included college students aged 18–25 years with a confirmed diagnosis of myopia. The study was conducted over a period of 4 weeks and involved pre, mid and post-intervention measurements. The intervention group underwent a structured OMT program. Demographic data: Age, gender, height, weight,BMI, degree of myopia (in diopters) Intervention details: ocular muscle training exercises Outcome measures (Pre, Mid, and Post): Balance scores (BBS, Timed up and go test, YBT) Foot pressure distribution data (Podiascan, Harris Mat) The dataset is available in Excel formats. This dataset can be used to: Analyze the impact of ocular training on balance and foot biomechanics Explore visual-motor coordination in populations with refractive errors Compare balance characteristics between myopic and non-myopic individuals Develop or validate models of sensorimotor integration involving vision and posture Ethical Considerations: All participants provided informed consent before participation. The study was approved by the institutional ethics review board, and participant confidentiality has been maintained by anonymizing the dataset.
