Bacterial skin colonization with Propionibacterium avidum as a risk factor for Periprosthetic Joint Infections - a single-center prospective study

This study aims to investigate skin of patients undergoing a hiparthroplasty at the Orthopedic University Clinic Balgrist, Zurichusing swabs to detect colonizing P. avidum in the groin/hip area asa risk factor for intraoperative acquired PJI.
