资源简介:
The Conductivity, Temperature and Depth (CTD) and other data set was collected as part of Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere and Coupled Ocean Atmosphere Response Experiment. Data from 129 stations was collected from three legs of Ship JOHN V. VICKERS. The data was collected over a period spanning from November 18, 1992 to February 22, 1993. 1,181,256 records of CTD data was submitted by Dr. Robert Pinkel of Scripps Institution of Oceanography, La Jolla, CA.
The CTD data were collected during the Vicker's time on station during TOGA COARE using the Vickers' SEABIRD CTD system for Leg #1 and the first few casts of Leg #2. After that, UCSB's CTD was used. The data were later processed and converted into text files which have been compressed using standard UNIX compression. Each file contains pressure, temperature, conductivity, density, and salinity (columns) aligned in 0.1 meter bins (rows). The casts were made (nominally) from the surface to 500m every 12 hours as the Vickers drifted in the IFA. The title of each file contains the date and time (UTC) of the cast. All casts were made within 20 km of 2 deg South, 156 deg 15 min East.
