Phyllosphere bacterial and fungal communities in giant pandas' staple food bamboos

Leaf surfaces are unique and extensive habitats for microbial communities that play a key role in plant growth and adaptation to adverse conditions. The composition of microbial communities varies greatly among different plant species, but there was few study on phyllosphere bacterial and fungal communities in giant pandas' staple food bamboos. And whole- metagenome shotgun sequencing has been used to analyze the differences in biological functions (KEGG and Carbohydrate-Active enzymes functions) of CS and BF phyllosphere bacteria and Fungi.
