RNA sequence of pre-senescent proliferating human normal fibroblasts and senescent cells

Senescent cells secrete inflammatory cytokines and extracellular vesicles via senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP), which contributes to the development of many age-related diseases. Therefore, controlling senescent cell survival and SASP secretion may inhibit the development of age-related diseases. Several drugs that selectively eliminate senescent cells (known as senolytics) are currently under development and are expected to prevent or treat many aging-related diseases. However, existing senolytics may have adverse effects on normal cells in some clinical setting. We performed RNA-seq analysis using pre-senescent proliferating (Control) and irradiation-induced (Irrad) or replicative (Rep) senescent TIG-3 human diploid fibroblasts. This analysis identified genes that are differentially expresses in senescent cells and are important for the survival of them.
