Raw Data on Inosine monophosphate potentiates aminoglycosides killing efficacy through ATP-dependent proteotoxic stress

This study reveals that inosine monophosphate (IMP) specifically enhances the bactericidal efficacy of aminoglycoside antibiotics against common aquaculture pathogenic bacteria such as Edwardsiella tarda and Vibrio spp. Mechanistically, IMP remodels the central carbon metabolism of bacteria and elevates intracellular ATP levels, thereby cooperating with antibiotics to induce translational errors, accumulation of misfolded proteins and excessive production of reactive oxygen species. It achieves antibacterial potentiation by amplifying energy-dependent proteotoxic stress.
