The series consists of bound volumes of minutes of the regular meetings of the Newcastle Technical Education District Council, recording discussions, decisions and recommendations made by the council, and also discussions of issues raised by council committees (e.g. for buildings and equipment, education and finance), which fed into the main council decisions.The minutes record decisions made on matters such as maintenance of buildings and grounds, expansion of college sites, acquisition of land, management of facilities, appointments to staff, equipment requirements, approvals for new courses and revisions to existing ones. There are indexes in the front of each volume.
