NOTE: The present checklist, yet not fully comprehensive, represent those names that have been in use in the recent past, or that could be rightly used among others in the near future; family-group names that in the past were based on genera that are no longer valid are omitted from this list. The genera Acontiothespis, Creobotra, Eremophila, Eufischeriella and Theoclytes were invalidated after becoming synonyms of (respectively) Acontista, Creobroter, Eremiaphila, Rivetina and Vates. The genera Fischeria, Harpax and Miopteryx are invalid as junior homonyms, the replacement names are Rivetina, Harpagomantis and Antimiopteryx, the latter now synonym with Miobantia, which became the type genus of Miobantiinae (see Roy, 2013b).
