Actinidia chinensis var chinensis RNAseq

Since 2007, bacterial canker caused by Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae (Psa) has become a pandemic disease leading to important economic losses every country where kiwifruit are widely cultivated. To elucidate early molecular reaction of kiwifruit plants (Actinidia chinensis var. chinensis) to Psa infection, a RNAseq analysis was performed during the different phases of the infection process, from the epiphytic growth till the endophytic invasion.Our work provides an in-depth description of the plant molecular reactions to Psa in the key steps of infection process and the genes related to ASM-induced resistance.These knowledges leading to a better understanding of kiwifruit defensive mechanisms provides robust tools for improving breeding for resistance and developing effective control strategies in open field
