2018 Plagiarism Survey

Results from a survey of journal editors undertaken August 2018. The survey asked about their experience of plagiarised submissions and what percentage of global submissions they estimated to be plagiarised.<br>Respondents who had experienced some plagiarised submissions in the past year were asked about the volume of articles this represented, the type of plagiarism they had encountered how it had been detected, and how they dealt with articles containing duplicated or plagiarised content. We also asked them if they had identified any published articles that contained plagiarised content, and – if so – what they had done.<br>The survey received 372 responses, including 119 from Asia, 112 from Europe and 57 from N. America. The survey was endorsed by the European Association of Science Editors (EASE)
