This data set investigates the genetic variability of oil palm responses to high VPD through two experiments conducted in 2020 and 2021. A set of six oil palm progenies was evaluated at an early growth stage for their responses to low and high VPD conditions. To isolate the effects of VPD from water soil deficit, the plants were grown in glasshouses with carefully monitored air temperature and humidity, alongside controlled irrigation to maintain non limiting soil moisture. We performed phenological, morphological, and ecophysiological measurements as well as biochemical and candidate gene expression analyses for each progeny to assess potential changes under the two VPD treatments.
