资源简介:

# Mixed-species gibbon groups in a zone of parapatry The materials support analyses of mixed-species group formation, reproductive performance, sex–species pairing structure, and spatial behaviour of *Hylobates lar* and Hylobates pileatus and their hybrids in the Khao Yai contact zone (Thailand). The dataset combines long-term field observations with fine-scale GPS tracking (5-minute intervals), reproductive records, and spatial GIS layers used for home-range estimation and visualization. ### 1. `mixed lar pil 5m locations_clean.xlsx` GPS location data recorded at 5-minute intervals for lar, pileated, and mixed-species (“double”) group configurations. These data were used to reconstruct spatial use and home ranges during periods in which mixed-species groups formed and later split into single-species groups and independent territories. ### 2. `reproduction.csv` Group-level reproductive dataset including:- group identity- number of offspring (infants and juveniles) These data were used to quantify reproductive output across lar, pileated, and mixed-species groups. ### 3. `only mixed groups.xlsx` Dataset describing sex–species composition in mixed-species groups. Includes information on adult pair structure and observed sex–species pairing combinations. ### 4. `KS Shapefiles.zip` GIS spatial layers for the Khao Yai National Park study area, including:- elevation contours- streams- roads ### 5. `R_Code_Mixed_species_gibbon_groups_in_a_zone_of_parapatry.R` R script containing all analyses and figures presented in the study, including: - Poisson generalized linear models (GLMs) of reproductive output - Chi-square tests of sex–species pairing structure - Residual analyses and effect size estimation - Home range calculations- Figure generation (maps, alluvial diagrams, and spatial visualisations) The script provided reproduces all statistical analyses and figures reported in the manuscript. ## Study system The data originate from long-term behavioural and ecological monitoring of *Hylobates lar* and *Hylobates pileatus* in Khao Yai National Park (Thailand), spanning multiple decades of field observations. ## Contact For questions regarding the dataset or analyses, please contact the corresponding author.
