Elucidating patterns of adaptive evolution in genome-reduced Escherichia coli

This research is DNA sequencing of E. coli with reduced genomes (KHK collection No.28). This strain were known that genome reduced size is correlated with the growth rate, but this reason is unclear. So, we applied experimental evolution methods and calculated growth change between before and after evolution. Next, we carried out whole genome sequence and RNA-seq . We analyzed genome mutation and transcriptome data. The aim of the research is to elucidate the patterns of adaptive evolution in genome-reduced Escherichia coli.
