Nayband Bay mangrove microbiome

To date, a comprehensive description of the microbial life in this mangrove ecosystem that has been exposed to oil-contamination is lacking, and this information might significantly contribute to a better overview of the functioning and resilience of the ecosystem. This study demonstrates, to the author's knowledge, the first successful application of pyrosequencing using the Illumina MiSeq® to investigate and characterize the microbial communities present in Nayband Bay mangrove sediments.
