Using Landsat image as the main data source, combining with field investigation and Google high-grade image, this data set is verified by randomly selecting sample points, and taking Lingbei mining area, the concentration of rare earth minerals in south Jiangxi Province as the study area, a 29-year data set from 1986 to 2019 has been prepared for the desertification, and the applicability of the stochastic forest method in extracting desertification information from red soil in southern China has been verified on a large scale, the results provide a basis for quantitative monitoring and analysis of the dynamic change characteristics and laws of desertification in mining areas, as well as the impacts of different rare earth mining patterns, Management Measures and reclamation measures on desertification in mining areas.
