BAT014 - Batta - Minimal pairs

This dataset contains commutation tests to identify minimal pairs in Batta with Hans Ferson Sawoy (born 1978), a native speaker of Batta. All words were recorded in isolation, utterance-final, and utterance-medial context. The session was recorded on 15 December 2019, in Yenenas village (Batanta island, Raja Ampat regency, Southwest Papua province, Indonesia). The recording of this session is split across two audio files, BAT014-01 and BAT014-02. This dataset relates to the British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship 'Synchronic and diachronic investigations in Raja Ampat-South Halmahera, a little-known subbranch of Austronesian' (PF19\100004); additional fieldwork funds were provided by a Moray Endowment Grant from the University of Edinburgh.
