This dataset is of the manuscript “Beyond Weekdays: Weekend Dietary Intake Uncovers Hidden Micronutrient Deficiencies in Institutionalised Children”. It contains dietary data and related documentation from assessing diet quality and micronutrient adequacy among institutionalised children in northern Mexico.
The repository includes:
Scenario-based dietary databases:
Weekday-only intake (Reg): Two 24-hour food records collected within the institution.
Weekday + Sunday intake (Reg+R24): Two 24-hour records plus a 24-hour recall for Sunday, capturing weekend dietary patterns.
Plausible reporters database:
A dataset of participants was classified as plausible energy reporters based on the Goldberg and Black method and physical activity data from the PAU-7S questionnaire.
Supporting documentation:
Blank informed consent and assent forms (English version) were used for participant enrollment.
Codebooks describing the variables and data structure of the dietary databases.
File format: Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx) for dietary data, PDF for blank consent/assent forms.
Use of data: All data are anonymised and intended for reproducibility, meta-analysis, or methodological comparison.
