Dataset Direct Download Service (WFS): SALW: Monitored sections — SPC Gironde-Adour-Dordogne Basin and Vienne-Charente-Atlantique (linear)

This dataset contains the sections of rivers monitored (linear objects) by the Gironde Adour Dordogne Crues Forecast Services (SPC GAD) and Vienne-Charente-Atlantique (SPC VCA) of the Aquitaine — Limousin — Poitou-Charentes region. The announcement of floods is regulated by the inter-ministerial decrees of 27 February 1984 which define the role of the various departments of the State. Flood reporting services must monitor river levels throughout the basin, prepare flood warnings and notify the Civil Protection Service when a critical threshold is exceeded. Pre-warning and alerting, under the authority of the prefects, consists of implementing the means of intervention on the ground, warning mayors, recording flood warnings and disseminating information.
