The genome of a wild yeast, Lachancea fermentati, isolated from Jamestown Island, Virginia was sequenced using a Nanopore sequencer. This yeast was used by a local brewery to craft a beer inspired by the early settlers of Jamestown colony to celebrate its 400th anniversary.
