DNA methylation libraries of the Beilunhe River and Liaohe River populations of the Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis)

This study investigates the epigenetic mechanisms underlying the environmental adaptation of the Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis) through genome-wide DNA methylation profiling of two geographically divergent populations (the Beilunhe and Liaohe Rivers). The constructed DNA methylation libraries provide crucial epigenetic resources for understanding the species' phenotypic plasticity and identifying methylation markers associated with stress resilience in aquaculture. Furthermore, elucidating these epigenetic regulatory networks offers novel insights into the rapid adaptation and evolutionary success of this species across diverse climates, providing a scientific basis for both germplasm conservation and ecological management.
