资源简介:
The unconfined aquifer at the Hanford Site 300 Area is subject to intrusion of organic and inorganic contaminant from a variety of sources. This region is environmentally sensitive due its proximity to the Columbia River. The aquifer is considered oligotrophic, with low fluxes of external nutrient inputs. Lateral textural heterogeneity of the Hanford formation sediments and hydraulic gradient changes due to periodic changes in the stage height of the Columbia River result in a highly varied and changeable environment. These physical and hydrological heterogeneities across space and time are hypothesized to have a large role in driving microbial community composition dynamics. Assembly of sequences generated from 4 samples taken at the Integrated Field Research Challenge site in the Hanford Reach, WA. Ground water collected from wells was filtered through a 0.2um filter.
