TEACHER-STUDENT COMMUNICATION AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

Effective communication between teachers and students is essential for fostering understanding, motivation, and academic achievement. This study explores how verbal and non-verbal communication, feedback, and interactive classroom dialogue influence students’ learning outcomes in high school settings. Using surveys, classroom observations, and teacher interviews, the research identifies patterns of communication that enhance student engagement, self-confidence, and performance. Results indicate that clear, respectful, and supportive communication significantly improves academic performance, promotes participation, and strengthens teacher-student relationships. Challenges such as varying student personalities, reluctance to participate, and over-reliance on teacher-centered instruction were discussed. The study highlights the importance of developing teachers’ communication skills to create inclusive and effective learning environments.
