资源简介:

A catalog of post-mass-transfer binary systems This dataset accompanies the paper "Ongoing and Post-Mass-Transfer Binaries: A Living Catalog and Unified Review of Binary Mass Transfer Products" It contains the largest catalog to date (of about 5500 binary systems) that have likely experienced (or are still experiencing) a single episode of mass transfer (i.e., systems in which at most one of the two components has evolved). Files post_mt_systems.json — main catalog in JSON post_mt_systems_flat.fits — flattened tabular version as a FITS binary table, with units and column descriptions in the header. post_mt_systems_flat.ecsv — flattened tabular version in Astropy's Enhanced CSV format. post_mt_systems_flat_notes.md — notes describing the columns and units of the flat tables. Data The primary (subscript 1) is the presumed accretor and the secondary (subscript 2) is the presumed donor. For each entry the catalog records, where available: - System identifier (System Name) — e.g. Gaia DR3 source IDs, HD numbers, cluster member designations- Sky position (RA, Dec; ICRS decimal degrees) with asymmetric uncertainties (present for all entries)- Period (days) of the orbit- Eccentricity - Component masses: most entries report direct values for M₁ and M₂ (in solar masses); a subset of systems constrain only the projected lower limits M1_sin3i or the Mass Function- Evolutionary types: evol_type_1 for the accretor predominantly MS, with some RGB and a handful of He-star; and evol_type_2 for the donor: WD (the largest group), MS, He-star/stripped, NS, AGB, BH, HG, RGB- Observational types, obs_type_1 and obs_type_2free-form classifications: spectral types (e.g. "M3", "A3V", "G5IV"), descriptive labels ("barium star", "Be", "Post-AGB", "white dwarf"), and subdwarf or compact-object designations ("sdB", "sdOB", "pre-He WD")- system_class System-level class, see papaer for details - Reference ADS bibcode references (often multiple per system) and a pre-built SIMBAD query URL generated from the recorded coordinates- quality_flags Quality flags marking assumptions and limits, e.g., assumed_e , assumed_M1 / assumed_M2 / assumed_q, and min_M2 (donor mass given as a lower limit)- Notes: Free-form notes per entry, which may also record the upstream source file when the system was ingested from a tabulated dataset Interactive websiteYou can find the most up to date version of this catalog at: https://binary-observations.github.io/post_mt_catalog/Here we also provide an interactive and browsable web interface/ plots from the main paper. Suggestions for missing systems, corrections, and new system classes are welcome via this interface!
