WIC Infant and Toddler Feeding Practices Study–2 (ITFPS2)

Overview
The WIC ITFPS-2 is a national, longitudinal study that examines feeding practices among caregivers and their children who participated in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) around the time of the child’s birth. The study explores:
Breastfeeding practices and support.Early childhood feeding practices and transitions.Food and nutrient intakes of infants, toddlers, and young children.The impact of WIC services on feeding practices.Children’s weight status and early precursors of obesity.Environmental factors influencing nutrition outcomes.Factors associated with the duration of WIC participation.Behavioral and trend changes compared to the previous major study, WIC IFPS-1.Data were collected during the prenatal period and throughout the child’s first nine years of life at specific intervals, specifically at child ages 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 60, and 72 months and at age 9 years.
