Youth leadership in civic participation and a bibliometric analysis within the framework of SDG 10 and SDG 16 (1994–2024)

Despite the growing interest in youth leadership, gaps remain in its analysis within civic participation. The aim is to analyze research trends on youth leadership and civic participation between 1994 and 2024. A bibliometric analysis was applied to 63 documents from Scopus and Web of Science using Bibliometrix and Biblioshiny. The results show a 72% increase in scientific production, with emphasis on transformational leadership, community participation, youth resilience, and civic education, as well as increased international collaboration. In conclusion, youth leadership emerges as an expanding field and a relevant component for civic participation, while also identifying areas for future research.
