Source data and code for "Global assessment of domestic visits to protected areas as a pressure on biodiversity conservation"

This repository contains the code and global visit maps assicoated with the manuscript "Global assessment of domestic visits to protected areas as a pressure on biodiversity conservation" in Nature Communications. Further methodological details are provided in the manuscript. The visit maps are provided as GeoTIFF (.tif) files at 0.05-degree spatial resolution, and include estimates of visit space and visit intensity derived from the mean visit fractions in Meta Activity Space Maps between July 2024 and June 2025.
