Site Data from an Archaeological Evaluation at Sherborne House, Sherborne Street, Gloucester 2019

This collection comprises site data (images and GIS) from an archaeological evaluation that was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in February and May 2019 at Sherborne House, Sherborne Street, Gloucester, Gloucestershire. Three trenches were excavated. Close to the south-eastern extent of the site a brick culvert, aligned north-east/south-west, was observed. The culvert had collapsed but appeared to have originally been circular shape in construction. This culvert followed the original alignment of Sherborne Street as observed on historic mapping between 1886 and 1955, before the street was re-aligned in the later 20th century Modern truncation was observed during the current works that are most probably associated with the recently demolished Sherborne House and also with a former engineering works.
