Data and Code for Peer Review For: Landscape composition and habitat proximity reveal divergent community- and species-level responses in hover flies (Diptera: Syrphidae)

This repository contains the dataset and analytical code associated with the manuscript: Landscape composition and habitat proximity reveal divergent community- and species-level responses in hover flies (Diptera: Syrphidae). This study represents the first comprehensive, statewide survey of hover flies in Ohio in over a century, comprising 8,207 specimens collected via a standardized water bowl trapping network across 142 sites. This repository provides all resources necessary to fully reproduce the study's analyses and figures, including: Datasets: Raw and processed data, including specimen-level occurrences, site-level community matrices, and extracted environmental variables (NLCD 2019 percent land cover and Euclidean distance to specific microhabitats). Analysis Scripts: R code to reproduce all statistical analyses, including generalized linear mixed models (GLMMs) evaluating how landscape composition and habitat proximity influence hover fly abundance, diversity, and functional trophic group occurrences. Visualization Scripts: R code to reproduce all manuscript figures and tables.
