Neopsephotus bourkii isolate:Nb327-2 Genome sequencing and assembly

Our genome sequencing project for Neopsephotus bourkii, also known as Bourke's parrot, utilized a combination of Oxford Nanopore long-read technology and Paired-end Illumina short-read data to assemble the genome using the Masurca assembly pipeline. This effort has yielded a high-quality reference genome for Bourke's parrot, with potential implications for the conservation of other threatened or related bird species. The data obtained can serve as a valuable resource for future research, aiding in a better understanding of the genetics, ecology, and evolutionary relationships within the Neopsephotus genus and potentially informing conservation efforts for similar avian species facing threats in their natural habitats.
