We established a chromosome-scale genome assembly for a Japanese rice cultivar 'Udai21', also referred to as 'Ohkome21', and previously designated as 'Yudai21', bred by Utsunomiya University, Japan, noted for its exceptional taste and high adaptability to storage conditions. Here, we present the resultant genome and gene files. Raw sequence reads and assembled sequences are available at DDBJ (BioProject accession number PRJDB20528) and Kazusa Genome Atlas (https://genome.kazusa.or.jp).
