16S Metagenome amplicon from Culex quinquefasciatus

The diversity of bacterial communities from different developmental stages, sexes, and adult feeding of two Culex quinquefasciatus isolines reared on laboratory conditions was characterized. An isoline, naturally infected with Wolbachia (wPipSJ strain), and originally obtained in 2016 from natural breeding sites in San Juan province, Argentina; and other generated by antibiotic treatment, exposing larvae and adults to a tetracycline hydrochloride solution. Groups of larvae, males, females only fed on sucrose solution and females fed on mouse blood were selected, surface sterilize and used for total DNA extraction. The 16S sequences obtained by amplification of the V3/4 hypervariable region primer pair were used for metagenome analysis.
