ZNIEFFs are Natural Areas of Ecological, Floristic and Wildlife Interest. The sectors that may be concerned cover the entire national, land, river and marine territory. They must be particularly interesting from an ecological point of view, in particular because of the balance or richness of the ecosystems they constitute, the presence of rare and endangered plant or animal species. ATTENTION: This file contains the first generation ZNIEFF. A recent national validation (November 2016) renders this file obsolete. The ZNIEFF perimeters, up to 28 November 2016, are available for free download. The new ZNIEFF sheets detailing each site are not yet available.
