资源简介:
During the fall of 1993, the US Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, Mandatory Center of Expertise for the Curation and Management of Archaeological Collections (MCX) conducted a survey of archaeological collections and associated documentation generated from archaeological investigations conducted on 13 U.S. Air Force, Air Mobility Command (AMC) installations. Only four-Charleston Air Force Base (and its sub-installation, North Auxiliary Field), South Carolina; Dover Air Force Base, Delaware; Scott Air Force Base, Illinois; and Travis Air Force Base, California - of the 13 installations researched by the MCX had generated archaeological collections, which includes the artifacts and the associated documentation. In sum, approximately 19 cubic feet of artifacts and approximately 10 linear feet of records from AMC installations are being curated by nine repositories in four different states. All collections require at least partial rehabilitation to comply with Federal regulations, and 44% of the collections require complete rehabilitation.
