Personal budget (pgb); budget allocated and spent

This table shows the total amount of personal budget (pgb) granted per year by care offices to persons and which is up to the maximum available for self-purchase or hiring long-term care at the expense of the General Act on Special Health Costs (AWBZ, until 2015) and the Long-Term Care Act (Wlz, from 2015 onwards). In addition, the table contains the total amount actually spent on AWBZ/Wlz care by budget holders (from their allocated pgb) in one year, including settlements with old years. The part of the pgb that the budget holder has not spent on care must be paid back to the healthcare office. As of 2015, long-term care is financed by several laws: the Long-term Care Act (Wlz), the Social Support Act (Wmo) 2015, the Health Insurance Act (Zvw) and the Youth Act. As of 2015, this table only tracks the number of persons awarded a Pgb at the expense of the WLZ. The Pgb is a subsidy scheme whose ceiling is set annually by the Ministry of Welfare. Data available from: 2009 This table tracks the AWBZ-financed pgb until 2015 and from 2015 onwards only the WLZ-financed pgb. PGB funded by the Wmo 2015, Zvw and Youth Act will not be taken into account as of 2015. Status of the figures: The figures for 2021 and 2022 are provisional, the remaining figures are final. Amendments as of 15 December 2023: The figure on the spent personal budget 2022 has been added. When will there be new figures?
