The Honboro Kangri Glacier is located in the Karakoram region of Pakistan, where the regional climate is mainly affected by the mid-latitude westerly circulation. From November to December 2018, the research group led by Prof. Baiqing Xu from the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, successfully drilled a 38.6-meter-long ice core (designated as the Hushe Ice Core; 35.415°N, 76.199°E) at this glacier. This dataset primarily provides oxygen isotope, hydrogen isotope, deuterium excess, and accumulation data from the Hushe Ice Core samples. The oxygen and hydrogen isotope analyses of the ice core were conducted using a L2130-i Cavity Ring-Down Spectrometer (Picarro Inc., USA), and all laboratory measurements were completed at the State Key Laboratory of Tibetan Plateau Earth System, Resources and Environment. This dataset comprehensively documents the temporal variations of temperature and precipitation in the Karakoram region between 1998 and 2018, and reveals that cooling and increased precipitation likely underlie the anomalous stability of Karakoram glaciers. These findings offer novel insights for predicting future mass changes of Karakoram glaciers.
