Natural monuments and sites whose conservation or preservation presents, from an artistic, historical, scientific, legendary or picturesque point of view, a general interest. Sites can be registered or classified. The classification offers strong protection by prohibiting, unless special authorisation is granted according to the importance of the work by the Minister responsible for the sites or the prefect of department, the carrying out of any work aimed at modifying or destroying the appearance of the site.从艺术、历史、科学、传奇或景观美学的视角出发，具备普遍保护价值的自然纪念物与场地。此类场地可予以登记或分级认定。分级保护机制可提供强有力的保护：除非经负责该类场地的主管部长或省省长根据工程重要性授予特殊许可，否则严禁任何旨在改变或破坏场地外观的施工活动。
