Users can download a report on trends in child and family well-being in the United States. Topics include: Topics include: family and social environment, economic circumstances, health care, physical environment and safety, behavior, education, and health. Background Childstats.gov provides annual updates on trends in child and family well-being in the United States. This website is maintained by the Forum on Child and Family Statistics, a collaboration of 22 federal agencies and private research organizations that collect, analyze, and publish data on 40 indicators pertaining to children and families. Topics include: family and social environment, economic circumstances, health care, physical environment and safety, behavior, educat ion, and health. User Functionality Users can download a PDF of reports on national indicators of child and family well-being. Users can view some measures of child well-being by race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and age. In addition, time trends in measures of well-being are available for several domains. Data Notes The annual report highlights select indicators, while a detailed report, “America’s Children: Key National Indicators of Well-Being,” is publ ished bi-annually. Reports are released in July. Data sources include: Air Quality System (AQS), which is collected by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey, American Housing Survey, Current Population Survey, and Decennial Census Data; and High School Transcripts Studies, which is managed by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).
