Skin microbiome variation in families of Indian origin

The human skin harbors a complex microbial ecosystem with transient and resident microbiota. The colonization of bacterial communities varies from person to person due to a combination of various factors such as, location, diet, age, gender, genetics, etc. The present study aims to understand the variation in the skin microbiota among family members of Indian origin, as extended families consist of three to four generations living together in a household and share similar habits hence, it provides a unique opportunity to understand skin microbiome associations.
