The contigs >5.0 kb were collected and then piped through DeepVirFinder v.1.0, VirSorter2 v.2.2.4, and geNomad v.1.11.0 for the identification of viral sequences. Subsequently, CheckV v.1.0.1 was employed to remove potential host regions and perform quality assessment of putative viral contigs. The identified viral contigs were clustered and dereplicated at 95% nucleotide identity and 90% coverage using CD-HIT v.4.8.1, generating 3,825 viral operational taxonomic units (vOTUs).
