To foster the development of an information literate citizenry with the technical and critical thinking skills and abilities needed to identify, acquire, manage and use information to enrich all aspects of their work and personal lives. 2. To promote and monitor the development of education and training for librarians as teachers, educational advocates, collaborators, and pedagogy experts 4.To identify and encourage effective practices in information literacy in all types of libraries around the world
