Chem-DART is the Data Assimilation Research Testbed (DART) modified to include regional chemical data assimilation (DA) and top-down emissions estimation software. Chem-DART is a Fortran-based ensemble Kalman Filter DA system that offers several analysis schemes and is designed to assist in handling covariance inflation and spatial/variable localization and top-down emissions estimation during DA. The development of Chem-DART is supported by NASA through the NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP), Ames Research Center (ARC), Tropospheric Composition Program (TCP), and the National Science Foundation – National Center for Atmospheric Research (NSF-NCAR). We use Chem-DART to assimilate satellite NO2 observations from TROPOMI and TEMPO instruments and constrain anthropogenic NOx emissions over North America. Please contact Dr. Arthur P.
