Data and Write-up for Master's Thesis - The Economy of Hate: An Experimental Survey Measuring How Economic Information Affects Attitudes on Immigration - April 2026

This repository contains the data and R code used in the master’s thesis ‘The Economy of Hate: An Experimental Survey Measuring How Economic Information Affects Attitudes on Immigration’, University of Hamburg, 2026. It includes the raw survey dataset (anonymised) and the R Markdown script that performs all cleaning, balance checks, analyses, moderation tests, and robustness tests. Running the Rmd file reproduces all results reported in the thesis. The dataset contains 1,314 responses collected via Prolific and LimeSurvey; after applying attention and treatment checks, the analytic sample is 1,174. All variables are described in the accompanying Rmd file. The materials are released under the CC‑BY 4.0. Please cite using the Zenodo DOI.
