The devR/dosR complemented strains, Comp1, of Mycobacterium tuberculosis shows an attenuated phenotype while the wild type H37Rv and devR mutant strains are virulent in guinea pigs. Towards deciphering the mechanism underlying attenuation of Comp1, a whole genome sequencing approach was undertaken.
