Spatial and seasonal dataset of sucking lice parasitizing rodents in northern Chile

This dataset accompanies the article “Spatial and seasonal distribution of rodent sucking lice (Psocodea: Anoplura) in northern Chile.” It compiles field data for ectoparasitic sucking lice collected from native and introduced rodents across ecoregions in northern Chile during the autumn and spring 2011, and summer and winter 2012. For each sampling record we provide: season, ecoregion, locality with coordinates, rodent species, number of rodents examined and infested, prevalence, louse species, total number of lice, mean intensity, and mean abundance. Data are delivered as a single Excel spreadsheet (.xlsx). Variable definitions follow standard parasitological usage (e.g., Bush et al., 1997).
