Description: Idioblast myrosin cells are involved in the chemical defense strategy in Brassicales. Guard cells are required for the gas exchange in land plants. Interestingly, bHLH type transcription factors, FAMA and SCREAM/ICE1, regulates the differentiation of both myrosin and guard cells. Recently, we identified a transcription factor, WASABI MAKER (WSB), which was a direct target of FAMA-SCREAM/ICE1 complex. To understand genes controlled by FAMA, SCREAM/ICE1 and WSB, we performed RNA-seq analyses.
